The Claude weekly limit is a cumulative seven-day ceiling on paid plans (Pro, Max, and Team) that meters usage across Claude on the web, desktop apps, and interactive Claude Code sessions. Anthropic tracks weekly limits for Opus only and for all other models separately, and each resets at a fixed, account-assigned day and time. It is a separate control from the 5-hour session limit that resets every five hours, so you can hit either one independently. When your weekly limit is reached, prompts pause under your included plan usage until your scheduled reset, or you can continue with Usage Credits.

When does the Claude weekly limit reset?

Opus and Fable weekly rules

Opus Weekly Allocation
In Settings › Usage, Anthropic tracks weekly limits for Opus only and for all other models separately, each with its own progress bar.
If your Opus weekly limit is reached, Opus prompts pause, but you can typically continue working with other models as long as your all-other-models weekly limit has remaining capacity.
Claude Fable 5 and 5.1 Weekly Quota Rules
Fable models follow specific, plan-dependent rules governing weekly consumption:
- Premium seats on Max, Team, and legacy seat-based Enterprise: Fable 5 and 5.1 can use up to 50% of the plan's existing weekly limit. This does not add extra weekly capacity; it sets a ceiling on how much of your included allowance can be consumed by Fable models. Once that threshold is reached, you can switch back to standard models or continue using Fable via Usage Credits.
- Pro, Team Standard, and legacy Enterprise Standard seats: Fable models are not included in plan weekly limits and use Usage Credits.
- Usage-based Enterprise: Fable models are billed directly at standard API consumption rates.

If you hit your weekly limit during critical work, you do not have to wait for your scheduled reset. Eligible subscribers on Claude Pro, Max, and Team plans can enable Usage Credits in Settings › Usage to continue beyond included weekly limits.
Once your weekly allowance is exhausted, eligible subscribers can continue working via a prepaid Usage Credits balance billed at standard Anthropic API rates.
Using Usage Credits does not change your normal reset schedule. Your included weekly limit continues to reset on its normal schedule each week.
